Enchanted Visions Project
In 2009 Amy Brown was restless and in search of amusement, so she emailed partner in crime, Jessica Galbreth with an idea that they should both agree on a title for a painting and then paint their own versions/interpretations of the title. Jessica agreed and a few weeks later they unveiled their paintings to each other. It was inspiring, exciting, and they had a blast. So they decided to continue with additional paintings and to name their new project the Enchanted Visions Project.
Both artists posted the Enchanted Visions paintings on their sites and soon other artists began to show interest. They wanted to participate as well, but Amy and Jessica, knowing how busy they were and just about how far they could stretch themselves before they snapped, said they just couldn't handle more than they already had on their plate. They knew organizing the project for a group of artists would be hard work and time consuming. This is where the brave (or foolish-we'll let her decide which) Coriander stepped in and volunteered to take on the project management.
Now dozens of artists around the world participate in Enchanted Visions.
It began as a simple, amusing game between two friends and evolved into something more. Enchanted Visions is meant to inspire artists to keep painting, hopefully completing a new piece every month. It is also a community of artists who can show their work and discuss it with each other.
The only real rule is that the piece you submit must be a new piece created specifically for the theme. You don't have to participate in every theme. It's not a contest. It is a tool to help keep you inspired, creating, and hopefully having fun.
